Earth Day, Fashion Revolution Week & Why How It’s Made Matters
Every April, two moments overlap: Earth Day and Fashion Revolution Week. Together, they invite us to take a closer look at something we often take for granted: what we wear and how it came to be.
Because every bag, every garment, every material has a story behind it.

For many brands, this is a time to start the conversation. For us at Deux Mains, it’s where everything begins.
Fashion is powerful. It’s how we express ourselves, how we move through the world, how we show up. But behind that expression, the industry can carry a hidden cost, on the environment, and on the people who make our clothes.
Fashion Revolution Week began in response to the Rana Plaza collapse, a tragedy that exposed just how disconnected most of us are from the hands that make what we wear. Since then, one question has become a quiet force for change:
Who made this?
It’s a simple question. But it changes everything. At Deux Mains, we believe you deserve to know the answer.
Our bags are handcrafted in Haiti by skilled artisans in a solar-powered factory designed with both people and planet in mind. We work with surplus leather, materials that already exist but might otherwise go to waste, and turn them into pieces that are meant to last, not just in quality, but in relevance.
This isn’t about keeping up with trends. It’s about creating something you reach for again and again, year after year.
And just as important as how something is made, is who it’s made for. As the seasons shift and life feels a little lighter, we design with that ease in mind, bags that move with you from everyday errands to evenings out, that soften and wear in over time, that feel like part of your rhythm rather than something you replace.
Sustainability can feel overwhelming, like an all-or-nothing standard. But in reality, it’s built on small, consistent choices.
Choosing fewer, better-made pieces.
Choosing brands that value the people behind the product.
Choosing to stay curious.
Because when you carry something made with intention, it carries meaning with it.

This Earth Day and Fashion Revolution Week, the invitation isn’t to overhaul your entire wardrobe. It’s simply to look a little closer.
Where did it come from?
How was it made?
Who made it?
The more we ask, the more we understand. And the more we understand, the more power we have to shape something better.
If you’re looking to invest in pieces that reflect those values, our collection is designed to do just that, handcrafted leather goods made slowly, ethically, and with purpose in Haiti.
